Gellért Baths - Budapest
The Gellert Thermal Bath is located in the same complex as the famous Gellert Hotel. This spa is known world-wide and highly favoured by travellers, built in a secession style, opened its gates in 1918 and was expanded in 1927 by the wave-bath and in 1934 by the effervescent bath. Gellért Thermal Baths includes a department offering complex thermal bath facilities, it also has an inhalatorium.
Water supply to the bath is ensured by the spring accesses established inside the Gellért hill. The water is a hot spring water with calcium, magnesium and hydrogen-carbonate as well as sulphate-chloride, also containing sodium and with a significant content of fluoride ions.
Gellért Spa has two effervescent bath sections: a large, 246 sq m effervescent bath pool with 26 °C water temperature, and a smaller, 60 sq m sitting pool, with 36 °C water temperature.
Ther are three outdoor pools in Gellert Bath: a 500 sq m wawe bath pool, with 26 °C water temperature, a 94 sq m sitting pool with fancy facilities and 36 °C water temperature, and a 56.4 sq m, shallow (0.4 m deep) pool, with 30 °C water temperature.
